ImagineRP Rules

Welcome to ImagineRP! Before diving into the specifics, let's share our vision. At ImagineRP, it's all about "Serious RP, in a relaxed way." Our rules are designed to foster a great roleplaying environment without overwhelming you with endless regulations. Think of them as common-sense guidelines to ensure everyone has the best experience possible.

As a thriving community, we're always open to evolving our rules based on what our members believe in. Your voice matters!

Respect the Community

Be Respectful

  • In-Character and Out-of-Character (OOC): Treat both your character and fellow community members with respect. Remember, everyone has their own story to tell.

  • No Self-Promotion: Refrain from advertising personal real-life products or services within the server or Discord. We may introduce a designated self-promo channel in the future.

  • Maintain Immersion: Keep OOC reactions in check. Excessive anger or "malding" disrupts the roleplay experience for everyone.

No Harassment/Discrimination

  • Zero Tolerance: Bullying, discrimination, harassment, and any harmful behavior are strictly prohibited.

  • Inclusive Language: Avoid mistreatment or discriminatory language related to age, gender, race, disability, sexual orientation, religion, or any other personal attribute. This includes derogatory terms towards friends.

Quality Roleplay

No Explicit Roleplay

  • Prohibited Topics: Avoid roleplaying scenarios involving pregnancy, underage characters, suicide/self-harm, overtly sexual content, and racial or other sensitive topics.

  • Sensitive Subjects: If you need to explore themes like torture or explicit drug use, obtain OOC consent from all involved players via /ooc chat or Discord. Remember, consent is ongoing and can be withdrawn at any time.

Value Your Character's Life

  • Authentic Behavior: Act true to your character. Your character should realistically value their life, showing fear or apprehension in dangerous situations.

  • Realism First: Before taking an action, ask yourself if you would do it in real life. Strive for actions that make sense for your character.

Mindful Roleplay Quality

  • Avoid Low-Quality RP: Use common sense and respect others. Here are some guidelines to keep roleplay high-quality:

  • Don’t continuously attack or follow a single player without reason.

  • Stay in character unless absolutely necessary.

  • Avoid "pocket wiping" (stealing everything from someone's inventory).

  • Don’t bait cops or other players.

  • Simply, don’t be a dick.

Drive, Fly & Boat Responsibly

  • Keep It Realistic: Unlike GTA: Online, roleplay here values realism. Avoid extreme stunts like excessive speeding, unrealistic jumps, flips, or spins that would likely end your character’s journey.

  • Be Practical: Ensure your vehicle actions make sense within the scenario.

Metagaming, RDM & VDM

  • No Metagaming: Don’t use out-of-character knowledge to influence in-character actions.

  • RDM (Random Death Matching) & VDM (Vehicle Death Matching): Avoid killing or harming other characters without a valid in-character reason.

  • Roleplay with Purpose: Every act of violence should have a reason, initiated through roleplay dialogue. Ensure there are always options for retaliation and response.

Combat Logging & Camping

  • Stay Engaged: Don’t log out or quit the game to escape combat scenarios. Roleplay through conflicts unless there’s a genuine emergency, in which case use /ooc chat.

  • Respect Spawn Areas: Avoid camping spawn spots to facilitate organic interactions.

Police & City Officials

Integrity in Law Enforcement

  • No Corrupt Roleplay: Police and city officials must uphold the law. Characters in these roles cannot be corrupt, bribed, or paid off to act against legal standards.

Handling Police Cars

  • Stealing Police Vehicles: While not outright banned, stealing police cars should be a last resort during chases. Avoid using them as an immediate escape method.

  • Abandoned Police Cars: If a police car is abandoned due to a player game crash, do not take it.

Punishments

To maintain a respectful and immersive environment, violations of these rules will be addressed appropriately. Punishments range from warnings for minor infractions to time bans and, in severe or repeated cases, permanent bans from the server. Our goal is to ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all members, so we handle each situation with care and consideration.
